Billabong Horseback Adventures is located in on a private rainforest property in Kuranda, only a short 30 minute drive inland from Cairns in Far North Queensland. Our property is a conservation neighbourhood that lies within a wildlife corridor which is habitat to many native animals such as the cassowary, bush turkey, wallaby, pademelon, and goannas, which roam free on the property. Other natural attractions include the giant Strangler Fig trees which are hundreds of years old, basket ferns, gum trees, termite mounds, and our tranquil Billabong which is home to water dragons, ducks, turtles, fish and eels. We also have our very own tame kangaroo sanctuary with feeding and photo opportunities available following all tour sessions. Horse riding tours operate daily, all year round. Tours are guided by professional trail riding guides with years of horse riding exprience, and a passion for horses in general. Our group sizes are small with a maximum of 6 riders per group. We cater for all riding abilities from beginners to professionals with a horse to suit everyone ranging from Stock Horses, Arabians, Quater Horses, Brumbies, and ponies suitable for small adults and children. Private tours are also available. Our family friendly operation welcomes riders as young as 5 years of age to participate, with no previous horse riding experience required. All participants are provided with a safety breifing & short riding lesson prior to departing our base, and also fitted with Australian safety approved helmets. Courtesy transfers from all Cairns & Northern Beaches accommodation outlets are available to all guests.
